Kentucky State Police reminds the public to drive sober

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Kentucky State Police reminded the public to drive sober or get pulled over this Labor Day weekend.

With ride sharing apps easier to access than ever before, already this year, Kentucky has seen 72 fatalities due to driving under the influence.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, on average, there is one alcohol impaired driving-related fatality every 50 minutes in America.

In just the past two weeks, there have been over 25 DUI arrests in the KSP Post 3 area, according to Trooper Daniel Priddy.

In addition to statewide DUI enforcement, KSP will also conduct traffic safety checkpoints over the holiday weekend.
