Kentucky State Police investigating officer-involved shooting in Ohio County

HORSE BRANCH, Ky. (WFIE, CNN) – Neighbors are left shaken in Ohio County after a deputy fatally shot a man after what they say was an altercation.
The Kentucky State Police says it responded to a call of a disturbance, where a man then confronted them.
Troopers then say a group of deputies then chased the man into nearby woods. Shots were then exchanged between the suspect and police, with an active K-9 unit and the suspect both being shot.
“We’re heartbroken that this happened at the end. Nobody wins,” Ohio County sheriff Adam Wright says. “You know, we hate it for the family. We hate it for our, our deputy. What she’s going through? It’s traumatizing.”
The man was airlifted to a hospital, where he later died.
