Kentucky State Police investigating fatal crash in Hart County

MUNFORDVILLE, Ky. – One person is dead following a collision in Hart County on Saturday.

According to the Kentucky State Police, troopers responded Nov. 9 to a two-vehicle collision in the area of 3770 Priceville Road in Hart County.

Troopers say a preliminary investigation has indicated a 2014 Ford Fusion driven by Mikhaela Kostas, 24, of Versailles was eastbound on Priceville Road when she tried to pass other vehicles in the westbound lane.

Authorities say the Ford Fusion collided with a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado driven by a juvenile that was traveling westbound.

Kostas was pronounced dead at the scene by the Hart County Coroner’s Office.

The juvenile driver and two juvenile passengers of the Chevrolet Silverado were transported to Baptist Health in Elizabethtown for non-life-threatening injuries.

The Kentucky State Police was assisted on scene by the Hart County Sheriff’s Office, Hart County EMS, Hart County Fire Departments and the Hart County Coroner’s Office.

The investigation is ongoing at this time.
