Kentucky officer injured during shooting in eastern Kentucky
OLIVE HILL, Ky. – One police officer is injured and a suspect is still on the loose after a shooting here in Kentucky. On Monday, in the rural community of Olive Hill, the officer was shot at around 3:15 p.m. Officials say this was done by an unseen suspect in a wooded area.
A helicopter took the officer to a hospital and while is condition is not known — he was alert and talking during transport.
According to the Kentucky State Police, the officer was not on call at the time of the shooting.
Authorities are now searching for a suspect- but have little information besides the type of car the suspect was driving. Police say they’re searching for a 2008 white Pontiac Torrent with Kentucky registration plates, with those plates reading AC811.
