Kentucky hiker rescued from ravine on Mount Washington

CONCERN, N.H. – A hiker from Georgetown, Kentucky was rescued from Mount Washington on Thursday, officials say.
The hiker, identified as Joabe Barbosa, 23, was hiking down the mountain when he fell into the Ammonusuc Ravine.
According to the New Hamphshire Fish and Game Law Enforcement Division, Barbosa sustained injuries to his head and face during his fall and suffered hypothermia.
Barbosa called 911, and GPS coordinates reached a conservation officer, officials say.
He was located by conservation officers and a volunteer EMT at 10:29 p.m, according to officials. At this time, officials say they gave Barbosa boots, food, a warm drink, winter gear and a headlamp before he was escorted to the trail and to the Cog Railway Parking Lot.
Barbosa was treated for his injuries by a rescue crew around 1:39 a.m. He was then transported to an area hospital.
