Kellogg reveals new names of spin-off companies, including ‘Kellanova’

(CNN) – Kellogg has announced the names of its new spin-off companies for some of its most popular snacks.
WK Kellogg Co. will include the North American cereal brands, like Frosted Flakes and Froot Loops.
The second name, Kellanova, will include snacks like Pringles and Cheez-Its, as well as international cereal brands.
Kellogg revealed the split last year to “better position each business to unlock its full potential.”
The WK is a nod to founder William Keith Kellogg.
Kellanova combines the first part of Kellogg and Nova comes from the Latin word for “new.”
The company says consumers might not even notice the change, because both logos will have the big, recognizable “K.”
When the companies split later this year, they will both be publicly traded.
