“Kegger Campground” Offers Outdoor Dining In The Cold
Downtown dining is back in Bellaire, Michigan thanks to the help of a local brewery. WPBN's Miya Ingle reports.
BELLAIRE, Mich. (WPBN/NBC News) — Downtown dining is back in Bellaire, Michigan thanks to the help of a local brewery.
With COVID-19 guidelines cutting indoor dining options, Short’s Brewing Company and several other downtown businesses wanted to create a space for guests to eat, drink and enjoy company in a safe and open-air environment.
The owner of Short’s thought of a way to make this happen by using the oversupply of kegs the brewery had, and came up with the “Kegger Campground” complex.
“It kind of occurred to me that you know we could build these three-sided little cubes, with materials that we already had that would also really kind of add a nice character, you know to the experience we’re trying to generate here,” says Short’s owner Joe Short.
The Kegger Campground is located across the street from Short’s Brewing Company but guests can enjoy carry-out food and beverages from different establishments around the area.
