FRANKLIN-SIMPSON, Ky. – Wednesday morning over at Franklin Simpson High School, one Wildcat signed his national letter of intent to take the court at the collegiate level.

Kamryn Ray, a star athlete on the Wildcat boys’ basketball team for all four years, celebrated his signing day today as the newest player on the South Carolina Central Christian men’s basketball team.

The senior averaged 9.4 points per game in his final season with Franklin Simpson, helping lead the team to a 13th district championship title back in February.

During the exciting day, Ray spoke on what kind of player the Gladiators are getting, which is the same kind of player he’s always been.

“(I am) somebody who’s willing to work, who wants to play, who’s a dog on the court and who doesn’t matter who’s in front of him because he’s going to go at him every time,” Ray said. “I like to play my role in whatever team I’m playing for. So, if that means being a leader or being a scorer or defender, I just like to play my role and set my team up for success to win.”
