BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Sunday’s severe weather has changed plans for a Memorial Day tradition.

On Sunday evening, organizers of the Jackrabbit Jog 5k to benefit the Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) Foundation announced the annual run will be postponed.

This is due to severe weather that swept through south central Kentucky causing damage to Kereiakes Park in Bowling Green.

The park will not be cleared for activities on Monday.

Organizers of the Jackrabbit Jog released an announcement on Facebook.

“Due to Sunday’s strong storms and damage that has left Kereiakes Park unsafe to race on, we are postponing Monday’s Jackrabbit Jog 5K. We are working to come up with a new date to have the race. As soon as we know a definitive date, we will share it with you! Thanks for your understanding!”
