Drug Trafficking Arrest

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A Bowling Green man is facing cocaine trafficking charges.

The Bowling Green-Warren County Drug Task Force received information that Taza D. Hays, 36, of Bowling Green, was allegedly engaging in the trafficking of illegal narcotics.

The Task Force says surveillance and three covert purchases of cocaine were made from Hays.

The investigation was presented to the Warren County Grand Jury on Wednesday. An indictment charging Hays with three counts of trafficking in a controlled substance, 1st degree (cocaine) was returned by a judge.

Bowling Green-Warren County Drug Task Force detectives and Kentucky State Police troopers served the indictment to Hays on Thursday at approximately 4:30 pm at his home on Nutwood Street.

During the arrest, law enforcement says probable cause was developed to obtain a search warrant.

The Drug Task Force says Hays attempted to flush cocaine down a toilet. Suspected marijuana, schedule II controlled substance tablets, and LSD were also discovered.

Hays was taken into custody and lodged at the Warren County Regional Jail.

Hays is charged with three counts of trafficking in a controlled substance, 1st degree (cocaine). The Drug Task Force anticipates additional charges as the investigation continues.
