International Center of Kentucky food pantry gives a taste of home

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The International Center of Kentucky has changed around its food pantry, which was made possible by the Red Cross and Feeding America Heartland.

The center recently decided to make the switch from the Americanized look to a more open market appearance.

Executive-director Albert Mbanfu with the International Center said that many clients they serve did not recognize canned goods, and while some are accustomed to those foods, much of the pantry is produce freshly displayed as it would be in their home countries.

Mbanfu said that while the pantry is geared toward immigrants, anyone can benefit if in need of food.
