Hopkinsville man facing 100 counts of sharing sexually explicit images of minors

HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. – A man who allegedly shared pornographic images of children online at least 100 times is now facing felony charges.

Kentucky State Police stated in a release that an undercover internet investigation led their Electronic Crime Branch Thursday to the home of 39-year-old James E. West, where he was taken into custody.

West is accused of distributing material of a minor under 12 years of age in a sexual performance. KSP stated that during the arrest, investigators also seized equipment they say West used during the crime.

West is held with no bond in the Christian County Detention Center and faces 100 counts of distribution of matter portraying a minor in a sexual performance under 12 years of age and 50 counts of possession of matter portraying a minor in a sexual performance under 12 years of age.
