Honoring Mike Murphy’s legacy at Bowling Green Chamber’s 2026 Rise and Shine
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Hundreds of city leaders and members of the community gathered for the Bowling Green Chamber’s 2026 Rise and Shine, sponsored by Murphy Construction Group, to honor Mike Murphy’s legacy and his massive impact on everyone he encountered.
Todd Matthews, president of Scott, Murphy & Daniel and COO of Murphy Construction Group, says, “You know, it’s very amazing. It’s an honor. Today’s event is a memory of a man who spent 50 years in construction. He spent 50 years in this community, and it’s evident now how much he actually gave back.”
With the passion and work ethic Murphy had, he strengthened the foundation of the company through the employees and connected the community by supporting local churches, the Soap Box Derby and countless others.
Matthews also tells us, “He loved doing concrete work and bridges, but he also wanted to do more concrete work and bridges. So he started Scott, Murphy & Daniel, and both started a building division so he could do more concrete work. But now we do more buildings, and we do concrete work. But what is so cool is these buildings serve people, and the bridges touch everyone in the community.”
The goal of today’s event was to remember Murphy, leaving people inspired and motivated by his neverending impact.
