Historic RailPark and Train Museum celebrates 15 years
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Labor Day weekend marks 15 years since Bowling Green welcomed the Historic RailPark and Train Museum.
When the museum opened in 2007, the museum section was only partially finished, and they did not have all eight railcars at the time.
Opening weekend, the Rail Park welcomed over 800 community members to the grand opening. Here’s a fun tidbit a handful of you may remember – the late Colonel Spiller was there at the depot ushering in eager onlookers.
Operation Pride restored the building over 25 years ago. Later, the friends of L & N Depot invested in it and made the rail park what it is today.
