Hilltoppers fall on the road at Kennesaw State 76-69
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – While the Lady Topper basketball team was at home on Thursday evening, the men’s team was on the road facing off with Kennesaw State on their court, and the team wasn’t able to extend their three-game win streak, falling to the Owls by a final score of 76-69.
It was an uphill battle for head coach Hank Plona and his team, who began 0-8 from the field and didn’t make their first basket until roughly six minutes into play.
Despite making a run to end the first frame and keeping things within just six points, WKU was unable to come out of the second half ahead, and with the loss falls to 5-5 in Conference USA play.
Leading the Hilltoppers on the night in scoring was senior guard Don McHenry, who tied his career-high with 30 points in the matchup, and just behind him, also in double digits, were guards Khristian Lander and Braxton Bayless, who tallied 13 points and 10 points, respectively.
The team will aim to split their record on the current road trip when they take on Jacksonville State in Alabama this Saturday at 4 p.m.
