Highest bid for ‘Murder Mansion’ surpasses $1 million

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The highest bid for a house known as Bowling Green’s “Murder Mansion” has been announced.

The multi-story home that sits off Cemetery Road in Bowling Green sold for roughly $1.7 million at auction. People gathered on the grounds on Oct. 26 to place their bid or simply to watch out of curiosity.

The home got its name after the brutal double murder of Dr. Charles Martin and his wife, Martha, nearly 70 years ago.

The spine-tingling stories of Murder Mansion have also been the focus of the Unseen Bowling Green walking tour and a book by local author Wes Sweitek.
