A massive winter storm system is dumping snow on the Northeast, shutting down travel, canceling school and halting COVID-19 vaccination clinics. NBC's Chris Pollone reports.
(NBC News) — A massive nor’easter is bringing blizzard-like conditions to much of the Northeast.
By Tuesday New York City could see their biggest snowfall in five years.
“Stay off the roads, stay off the streets and sidewalks, if there is anyway to avoid traveling, avoid traveling today,” Mayor Bill de Blasio warned Monday.
Up to two feet of snow in the forecast. New York City is under a State of Emergency, and all non-essential travel is banned, leaving midtown Manhattan looking like a ghost town.
Coastal flooding is a factor from New Jersey to New England, and thousands of flights are canceled throughout the region.
