Harvest Festival to expand down College Street

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A local favorite festival is expanding its each further into Bowling Green this coming fall season.

Across the street from the Kummer-Little Recreation Center, the small business accelerator and College Street will host more activities for this year’s Harvest Festival.

College Street with host an art festival with vendors lining the street, as well as an opportunity to check out the small businesses that call the area home.

Many times festivals in Bowling Green have called either Fountain Square or Circus Square Parks home, but now with the expansion of the river front, local businesses say its important for residents to experience all that the developing waterfront and historic Shake Rag neighborhood have to offer.

“I think it’s important to include this part of the community in downtown,” said owner of The Good Rind Rajna Bulut.

“Everybody’s used to Fountain Square, Circus Square, and I think just connecting all of downtown is really important, including the Shake Rag district. You know, White Squirrel is over here. We’ve got all these misses down here. So I think it integrates our entire community and kind of expands and gives us more things to do in Bowling Green”.

While ample parking is available, the trolley will be taking festival enjoyers to and from the Kummer-Little Recreation Center area to the square. And for those that might feel rushed to get enjoy everything there is some good news, as the festival will be open an hour later.

The Harvest Festival is on Oct. 17 and will run from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
