Hart, Edmonson counties receiving loans for agricultural infrastructure projects

FRANKFORT, Ky. – Hart County is among the communities in Kentucky receiving funding from agricultural loans for projects.
According to a release by the Kentucky Department of Agriculture, eight agricultural infrastructure loans were approved totaling $1,426,167.
Of those funds, Hart County will receive $71,667, officials say.
The department of agriculture says this portion of funding can be used for projects like permanent farm structures with attached equipment that could improve profitability of farming operations.
In Edmonson County, $100,000 was approved to assist beginning farmers. The Beginning Farmer Loan Program is designed to assist individuals with some farming experience who desire to develop, expand or buy into a farming operation.
Additional counties receiving infrastructure loans include Adair, Calloway, Henry, Meade and Taylor counties.
