Hart County man accused of abusing 7-year-old Glasgow boy
GLASGOW, Ky.- A 35-year-old Hart County man is behind bars in Barren County after police say he abused a 7-year-old boy.
According to the Glasgow Police Department, investigators responded Tuesday to TJ Samson Community Hospital after receiving a complaint that the boy had been physically abused.
An arrest citation states that the boyfriend of the boy’s mother, Michael Asbury, struck the child in the face and then hit him multiple times on his backside. The child had a visible hand print on the left side of his face, according to the citation.
The arrest citation also mentions there is video evidence of the incident that the mother filmed.
Officers arrested Asbury and charged him with first-degree criminal abuse on a child 12 or under.
He is currently lodged in the Barren County Detention Center.
