Happy Birthday, Hayward! Kiwanis Club member turns 103 and gets a special gift
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – He’s had perfect attendance for 65 years and just got a big fireworks show named after him.
The legendary Thunderfest will now be named the Hayward Minton Thunderfest after first event chairman and longest-standing member Hayward Minton. Minton joined the club when he was 38 years old, and now he is celebrating his 103rd birthday.
The club turned their weekly meeting into a birthday party for Minton, along with surprising him with the big announcement, which he said made him feel “fantastic” after being part of the club for so many years.
