Hancock County man charged with child sexual exploitation offenses

HAWESVILLE, Ky. – A Hancock County man is facing criminal charges after allegedly possessing child sexual abuse materials.

According to the Kentucky State Police, 34-year-old Carl Wayne Warner, of Hawesville, was arrested by the KSP Electronic Crime Branch on Tuesday afternoon.

KSP says Warner was arrested following an Internet Crimes Against Children investigation.

Detectives say Warner was sharing sexually explicit images of children online.

A search warrant was served at a home in Hawesville on Tuesday. The equipment used to commit the alleged crimes was seized and taken to KSP’s forensic laboratory for examination.

Warner was lodged at the Breckenridge County Detention Center and is charged with ten counts of distribution of matter portraying a minor in a sexual performance under 12 years old and ten counts of possession of matter portraying a minor in a sexual performance under 12 years old.

The investigation is ongoing.
