Guilty Plea Entered In Mackenzie Luek Murder Case
Ayoola Ajayi pleaded guilty to aggravated murder and desecration of a human body Wednesday, admitting he killed University of Utah student Mackenzie Luek, then dismembered and burned her body. KSL's Andrew Adams reports.
SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (NBC News/KSL) — A Salt Lake City, Utah, man has pleaded guilty to the murder of University of Utah student Mackenzie Luek.
On Wednesday, 32-yea-old Ayoola Ajayi pleaded guilty to aggravated murder and desecration of a human body.
His attorney says Ajayi met Lueck on a dating website.
Prosecutors say Ajayi killed Lueck in June of 2019, then burned and bound her body before dumping it in a remote canyon.
Ajayi pleaded guilty in exchange for not facing the death penalty.
