BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Tuesday evening, two Gators over in the Swamp became a part of just the small percentage of high school athletes who get to live out their dream in college.

Basketball seniors Nick Simpson and Garrett Hatcher signed their letters of intent in the Greenwood auditorium, with Simpson heading to Hanover College, and Hatcher joining the Bulldogs of Boyce College.

The duo helped lead the Gators this past season to the winningest year the team has had since the 2021-2022 season.

Simpson led the squad averaging 14.9 points per game with a 39.1% shooting clip from beyond the arc, while Hatcher followed right behind with 9.3 points per game.

Celebrating their signing day together, the two spoke on what drew them to their respective schools.

“ The first visit I went on (to Hanover), I knew it was the one,” Simpson said. “The lifestyle’s great there and the basketball coaches seemed like they really liked me, which was one of my deciding factors that hey actually want me there. So, I just visited the dorm and it’s just a beautiful town.”

“College will traject where you’re going to be for the rest of your life, and I want to be surrounded by fellow Christians who will hold me accountable, help me grow in my faith, as a person and as a player,” Hatcher said. “Boyce seemed like the right place to me. Great people, great coach, and just a great environment.”
