Governor orders flags to half-staff Saturday to honor fallen officer

FRANKFORT, Ky. – Flags will be at half-staff Saturday.
Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear issued the order for Saturday, April 20 from sunrise to sunset to honor a Winchester police officer who suffered a medical emergency following an arrest.
William “Marty” Jackson, age 73, former chief and current sergeant with the Winchester Police Department, died Sunday, April 14. Jackson suffered a heart attack after responding to a call.
Funeral services for Jackson will be held at 12pm (EDT) Saturday at George Rogers Clark High School.
The governor encourages all Kentucky individuals and organizations to participate.
