Glasgow police to conduct traffic safety checkpoints
GLASGOW, Ky. – The Glasgow Police Department stated it will be conducting traffic safety checkpoints in Glasgow city limits between May 21 and May 31.
The safety checkpoints will be but not limited to Columbia Avenue, West Main Street, North Jackson Hwy. and Happy Valley Road, according to police.
During the safety checkpoints, officers will enforce laws related to driving while under the influence of drugs or alcohol, licensing of motor vehicles and operators, registration and insurance violations, seat belt and child restraint violations and motor vehicle equipment violations.
Glasgow Police Department stated traffic safety checkpoints are used to encourage the safety and well-being of the public, as well as to give police visibility and interaction with the community.
