Glasgow police to conduct traffic safety checkpoints

GLASGOW, Ky. – The Glasgow Police Department says it will be conducting traffic safety checkpoints from Feb. 6 through the end of the month.
Police say the safety checkpoints will include but not be limited to Columbia Avenue, West Main Street, North Jackson Highway and Happy Valley Road.
During the checkpoints, officers say they will be enforcing laws related to operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs, licensing of motor vehicles and operators, registration and insurance, seat belt and child restraint and motor vehicle equipment violations.
The department says the checkpoints aim to promote safety of the public.
