Glasgow man allegedly attacks family, gun discharges, striking him and his father

GLASGOW, Ky. – A Glasgow man is facing a slew of charges after an altercation involving a gunshot.
The Barren County Sheriff’s Office says it responded to the 5400 block of Oil Well Road Thursday evening to a complaint of a gunshot victim.
According to a uniform citation, one of the victims, Evert Houchens, said his brother, 36-year-old Wesley Houchens of Glasgow, pointed a gun at his head and then struck him in the rib cage with the pistol. Evert Houchens says Wesley Houchens then choked him against a porch support to the point he could not breathe.
The victim says their father, Willie Houchens, tried to stop Wesley Houchens from attacking him. Willie Houchens and Wesley Houchens were in an altercation when the firearm discharged in Wesley Houchens’ pocket, striking Wesley Houchens, as well as the father, in the legs.
Wesley Houchens and his father were transported to T.J. Samson Community Hospital for treatment.
Deputies say they spoke to a female subject on scene, who stated Houchens allegedly choked her during the altercation.
Deputies say she had visible injuries to her neck.
Houchens is charged with fourth-degree assault (domestic violence), minor injury, first-degree strangulation (domestic violence related), fourth-degree assault (minor injury), first-degree strangulation (non-domestic violence), first-degree wanton endangerment, second-degree assault – domestic violence and resisting arrest.
Wesley Houchens is lodged at the Barren County Detention Center.
The investigation is ongoing.
