Glasgow Christmas Parade to impact traffic

GLASGOW, Ky. – Drivers in the Glasgow area should be prepared for some traffic impacts from the upcoming Glasgow Christmas Parade on Saturday.
According to major Terry Flatt, public information officer with the Glasgow Police Department, the parade is scheduled to start at 6 p.m.
The route is set to start on Columbia Avenue at Glasgow High School before traveling down Columbia Avenue to Main Street, making a right turn and going around the Glasgow Public Square then onto South Green Street and ending at the Sav-A-Lot location.
Starting at 5 p.m., police say closures will take place on Columbia Avenue from Sandwood Drive to Veterans Outer Loop.
In addition, Scottie Drive at the school location will be impacted beginning at 1 p.m., and Columbia Avenue starting at Sandwood Drive and all side streets will close at 5:30 p.m. or earlier if needed.
Police say Glasgow Public Square will close at 5:30 p.m. or earlier if needed.
All roads will remain closed until the parade has concluded.
Clean up from the parade is set to start at 9 p.m.
Police are asking to take caution and plan an alternate route if you must travel in this area.
