Franklin-Simpson FFA hosts annual Drive Your Tractor to School Day

FRANKLIN, Ky. – Tractor trucks were on the road Thursday morning in Franklin with future farmers behind the wheel.

The Future Farmers of America student chapter at Franklin- Simpson High School kicked off its annual Drive Your Tractor to School parade on Thursday morning.

Students rode tractors ranging different sizes down North Main Street back to their school.

“I know there’s a lot of students that do this and they do it because it is a part of their life, it’s a part of their heritage but they got a spotlight on them today and I think that’s pretty cool,” said Samuel Evans, a teacher at Franklin- Simpson High School.

It’s also their rush week, and they plan to get out in the community and serve.

Teachers said if you see those kids in tractors driving home, wave and slow down because those are the future farmers of America.

“Being from a heavy agriculture community driving your tractor to school day has been a long-standing tradition that we are excited to continue to do,” said Abigail Cline, a teacher at Franklin- Simpson High School.
