FRANKLIN, Ky. – A Franklin, Kentucky man has been sentenced after pleading guilty to charges involving drug trafficking, according to officials.

The South Central Kentucky Drug Task Force says as part of a long term investigation, agents conducted three undercover purchases of methamphetamine from Steve Roberson, 47, of Franklin.

He was charged with three counts of trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and persistent felony offender.

Roberson chose to take the charges to trial after he denied plea offers from the commonwealth, officials say.

Roberson pled guilty to the charges before the trial, allowing the jury to sentence him, according to officials.

The drug task force says Roberson was sentenced to a maximum of 20 years.
