Franklin man accused of armed robbery at Wendy’s

FRANKLIN, Ky.- A 19-year-old man from Franklin is accused of an armed robbery at a Wendy’s restaurant.

According to Franklin police, officers responded to the restaurant at 527 North Main Street around 1:30 p.m. in response to an armed robbery.

Witnesses told police that a man entered the business with two handguns and forced employees and customers behind the register.

Police say the man then ordered an employee to empty the contents of a safe into a bag. Police say the man fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police say video surveillance confirmed what witnesses told authorities.

Police identified the man they say robbed the restaurant as, Elijah McCrory. McCrory was located at his residence, where police say they recovered two hand guns, clothing worn during the robbery and cash.

McCrory was arrested and charged with first-degree robbery and first degree unlawful imprisonment.

He is lodged in the Barren County Detention Center on a $100,000 cash bond.
