Four Dead, Two Missing In Campground Flooding
Authorities are still searching for two people missing after raging flood waters swept through a North Carolina campground Thursday. WCNC's Brandon Goldner reports.
(WCNC/NBC News) — At least four people are dead and two, including a 1-year-old child, are still missing after heavy rains triggered deadly flash floods across North Carolina Thursday.
Three bodies were recovered at the Hiddenite Family Campground in Alexander County.
A fourth victim was killed in a car crash due to a bridge failure not far from the campground.
More than 30 people were rescued from rising floodwaters at the campground Thursday. At times, the floodwaters were as high as the houses’ roofs, and multiple vehicles were fully submerged in the water.
