Fountain Square Players set to perform “A Raisin in the Sun” featuring Hollywood star

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Fountain Square Players are getting ready for their next performance, this one featuring a Hollywood star that is making his way to Bowling Green.

March 13th through 16th, the play “A Raisin in the Sun” will be performed at the Capitol Theater, featuring E. Roger Mitchell, who has been in movies alongside the likes of Will Ferrell, Denzel Washington & Tom Cruise among others.

We caught up with some of the cast at their rehearsal, who told us how cool this opportunity is to work alongside someone of Mitchell’s status… and how he has embraced Bowling Green in his short time here.

“For him to just come here and embrace Bowling Green, and just being around someone of his talent, experience, his caliber. We’ve all learned something,”  David Greer, a fellow performer said.

E. Roger plays the character Bobo, while David plays Walter Lee in the play.

Mitchell added that he’s loved his time in Bowling Green so far, and can’t wait for the community to see the production when it premieres on Thursday.
