Former Purple looks back at path to the pros

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – One Bowling Green High School alum has spent the last year gaining professional experience after his time playing soccer in Warren County came to a close.

After making history last year becoming the first ever homegrown to sign with Nashville SC in club history, Adem Sipić is on his way to big things, and the best part, he’s one of Bowling Green’s own.

Getting his start with SKY Club and BG Elite, Sipić was more than prepared to take his skills to Nashville SC’s academy and begin his path to becoming a boy in gold.

Now competing for the clubs MLS NEXT Pro affiliate, Sipić spoke on how important his hometown was in shaping his career.

“Coaches at SKY, coaches at BG Elite, the owners of BG Elite, like, they really just opened the club out of nothing. Like, they all got together and were like, ‘yeah, we’re just gonna give, like, all we can to give the kids here the best opportunities’,” Sipić said. “No, it means a lot really. And just even like, when I go back home, like I’ll go and see all of them, like the old teammates, I’ll hang out with them. So, I’m still really close with all of them. So that whole, like, journey was really good.”
