For the fourth year, holiday wreaths will be placed on veterans’ graves

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Bowling Green Parks and Recreation is holding their annual veteran’s wreath program.
This is the 4th year that Fairview Cemetery two has had veteran’s monuments laid with wreaths for Christmas.
This tradition started as a collaboration between Greenwood High School and the cemetery.
While last year volunteers came out to lay the wreaths and a ceremony was held involving Junior ROTC members from Greenwood, this year that won’t happen because of the virus.
The cemetery still needs 355 more wreaths and are taking donations.
Cathy Maroney, the cemetery manager, believes the wreaths honor veterans and their families.
The wreaths are out for the whole month of December to honor those who have served our country.
