Florida man facing charges after allegedly wrecking stolen vehicle in Logan County

LOGAN COUNTY, Ky. – A Florida man is facing charges after deputies say he stole a vehicle and wrecked it in Logan County.
According to a release by the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, deputies received a call about a vehicle accident with injuries around 10:45 p.m. Friday night on Nashville Road just south of Schochoh Road near Adairville, Kentucky.
Upon arrival, deputies say they learned a 2004 Volvo operated by Timothy Ethan Sistrunk, 33, of Ormond Beach, Florida was traveling southbound on Nashville Road when he crossed the centerline, running off of the left side of the roadway and colliding into an embankment.
Sistrunk was trapped in the vehicle for a short time before the Adairville Rural Fire Department freed him, according to deputies.
Deputies say they later learned Sistrunk had stolen the vehicle from the parking lot of Logan Memorial Hospital, now known as The Medical Center at Russellville, before the accident.
The release states alcohol and speed were contributing factors in the crash.
Sistrunk was flown from the scene to TriStar Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.
Sistrunk is facing multiple charges, including theft by unlawful taking – auto, driving under the influence of alcohol/drugs, first-degree criminal mischief and operating a motor vehicle on a suspended license.
The investigation is ongoing.
