Flood shelters open in Warren County
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Flooding in our area has caused several organizations to unite.
The South Central Kentucky Chapter of the American Red Cross has established an official warming and dry center at Buchanon Park.
Other organizations, such as Hotel Inc. and Room in the Inn, have partnered with the Community Adaptation Program to host other shelters throughout our area.
The Warren County Public Library is also providing shuttle services for those in need.
Josh Riddle, the Disaster Risk Reduction Manager for Warren County, describes these groups as resilient in times of need. He says its important for smaller communities to “come together” and “support each other” during these times.
Necessities, like toiletry items, meals, and water, will be given to those who come to shelter. Counseling and other resources for rehabilitation will be offered too.
