Five shootings leave three injured, one dead over the weekend

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – It was a busy weekend for the Bowling Green Police Department.

BGPD is working five separate shooting cases, one of which, a man lost his life.

Officials said Friday night, Dominique Todd was shot to death on Audley Court while sitting in a pickup truck.

Early Saturday morning, Douglas Jackson was shot on Butler Way.

Saturday afternoon, Olivier Shema was shot once on Creason Street and taken to a local hospital for treatment.

“This is kind of just like, oh crap, this is something that actually does happen and it just kind of made it more real,” said Ty Smith, resident of a nearby apartment complex.

Also, late Saturday night and on Sunday morning shots were fired with no injuries on Woodford Street and Vine Avenue and on Clay Street.

Officials said they have a suspect for each incident except for the shooting death of Todd but are working diligently to find whoever is responsible.

“Since Friday evening our department has been working these shootings non-stop and tirelessly going through all of the information that we have, trying not to miss any details, looking at every possible angle that we have and going over all of the evidence that we have,” said Officer Ronnie Ward, Bowling Green Police Department.

Police believe the two shootings with no injuries and the shooting of Douglas Jackson may be connected.
