Firefighters battle house fire and brush fire in Butler County

BUTLER COUNTY, Ky. — Multiple fire departments worked together Sunday afternoon after a house fire broke out while crews were already battling a large brush fire in Butler County.

The call for the house fire came in just after 4 p.m., according to the Hadley Fire Department. With Butler County units tied up on the brush fire, mutual aid was requested to help bring the blaze under control.

Firefighters from Hadley, Browning, Plano, Woodburn, and Warren County’s “WC2” unit all responded. Browning’s daytime crew of four, operating Engine 112, provided critical staffing support during the incident.

Crews worked for several hours alongside Butler County firefighters to contain the flames. Hadley Assistant Chief Moyers and Chief Justice coordinated water supply operations, ensuring a steady flow of water for suppression efforts. Meanwhile, Warren County Deputy Chief Alden and Woodburn Chief Skipper oversaw resource management and safety on scene.

No word yet on the cause of the house fire or the extent of the damage.
