Fire in Russellville results in the loss of a multi-generational home

RUSSELLVILLE, Ky. – On the morning of Tuesday, February 3, a family home burned down which left a big hole.

Paul Nourse, who had been living there his whole left told News 40 that he “lost everything” due to the fire that started in his childhood home. Nourse was asleep on the couch that morning, and said first responders woke him up.

News 40 spoke to John Buchanan and Jacob Burnett with the Logan County Sheriff’s Office and the Auburn Fire Department who just so happened to be driving by.

Burnett who was first on the scene, said he was actually heading to Hardin County at the time for a transport when he noticed thick smoke coming from across the road. He activated his cruiser’s lights which would then draw the attention of Burnett, an EMT and fire lieutenant on the way home from work, earlier than usual.

After confirming the smoke was coming from in the home, Buchanan would then attempt to bang on the door and announce himself. Burnett told News 40 he dawned what little personal protection equipment he had in his personal truck and would attempt to kick down the door after no response to Buchanan.

Since then, Nourse’s sister has set up a gofundme page for her brother, asking for help, to donate click here.
