FEMA opens Disaster Recovery Center at Buchanon Park in Bowling Green
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – FEMA has opened a Disaster Recovery Center in Warren County to help those affected by the April flooding.
It’s located at the Michael O’ Buchanon Park gym building, and offers help from FEMA officials as well as the Small Business Administration.
There, you can apply for federal assistance if you were affected by the flooding back in April.
It can help you with home and car loss, as well as other issues.
While you are able to apply online, FEMA representatives say going to the Disaster Recovery Center might be best if you have any questions regarding what you need to do.
“It’s so valuable to be able to explain to someone your circumstance and your situation caused by the disaster… and you can feel rest assured that your application is being filled out properly and as accurately as possible. When you go to the disaster recovery center and speak with the FEMA specialist… you can detail your need caused by that disaster, and it’s so helpful having that person to be able to walk through it with you,” Kim Keblish, a Public Affairs Specialist with FEMA, says.
There are also Disaster Recovery Centers at the Gasper River Association of Baptists in Morgantown, and a new DRC in the basement of the Hart County Community Center on Raider Hollow Road in Munfordville.
Centers are open from 9AM to 7PM Monday through Saturday, and 1PM to 7PM on Sundays.
The deadline to apply for FEMA assistance is June 25th.
