LEITCHFIELD, Ky. – A Grayson County man, who is a convicted felon, is charged with drug offenses.

According to a uniform citation, the Greater Hardin County Narcotics Task Force assisted Kentucky Probation and Parole in a complaint of drug trafficking at the home in the 10200 block of Anneta Road on Tuesday.

Law enforcement says 57-year-old Charles Dewayne Ford, of Annetta, possessed a “marijuana grow in the closet,” suspected packaged methamphetamine for resale and $2,000.

Ford allegedly attempted to destroy the marijuana by “placing them in a gallon Ziploc bag and concealing the bag under items in the bottom of his closet,” according to the citation.

Officers say Ford possessed a notebook that has evidence of suspected narcotics trafficking and marijuana cultivation.

Ford was arrested and transported to the Grayson County Detention Center. He is charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance first offense (> or = 2 grams of methamphetamine), cultivating marijuana (5 plants or more) second or more offense, possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia buy/process and tampering with physical evidence.

According to K105, Ford was convicted in September 2022 in Edmonson County for trafficking in methamphetamine and is on probation until 2030.

The investigation is ongoing.
