GLASGOW, Ky. – Farmers RECC is working to restore power for 6,200 members, as of 1 pm Sunday.

According to a release, Farmers RECC crews are locating broken poles and damaged equipment across their service area.

The release states that current conditions and the possibility of precipitation are slowing down restoration.

“Restoring power after a major outage is an enormous undertaking that involves much more than simply throwing a switch or removing a tree from a line,” said Toby Moss, Farmers RECC President and CEO.

Farmers RECC says any ice over 1/4” on distribution lines significantly increases the possibility of failure.

Farmers RECC serves Adair, Barren, Edmonson, Grayson, Green, Hardin, Hart, Larue, Metcalfe, Monroe, and Warren.
