Family of man murdered in Marshall County comments on Bowling Green woman’s arrest

BENTON, Ky. – A Bowling Green woman was arrested in connection with a Marshall County murder back in 2024. Now, the victim’s family is commenting on the investigation.

Kentucky State Police Post 1, with assistance from Post 3, arrested 39-year-old Haley Nelson of Bowling Green on Friday in connection to the 2024 murder of Jesse Moore.

An indictment charges Nelson with murder and tampering with physical evidence.

The investigation spanned nearly two years, and now Moore’s family says they still have questions about the answers they’ve received.

“It was just very surprising, especially since we don’t know her or whoever did this. Why did this person do this? When are we going to be able to get answers? Why would someone from Bowling Green be involved in this?,” Natalie Moore, Jesse’s ex-wife, says.

Natalie says the family has been trying to process everything still, but this gives them something they felt they were starting to lose.

“Hope is what we have. Your emotions kind of become on hold because you’re just waiting for these answers… and maybe once we have the answers, we’ll be able to process everything and look forward to the future,” Moore says.
