Edmonson County Water District takes on new management

EDMONSON COUNTY, Ky. – Recently the Edmonson County Water District has taken on new management, which means changes are coming to the department.

News 40 spoke to Kevin Shaw, the new manager, who said “we accept some of our shortcomings” when asked about what he hopes for the future. Shaw said he has been in contact with Congressman Brett Guthrie, who has taken interest in the incidents that have befallen Edmonson County.

Water quality has been a point of concern for a few months now and Shaw said it will take a lot of work, but everyone on staff is prepared to wade through it. Shaw told News 40 that there are certainly challenges when trying to run a more rural water company but “nothing is so broke that it can’t be fixed” in Edmonson County.
