Edmonson County man dies after crash in Warren County

WARREN COUNTY, Ky. – A 70-year-old man has died following a crash on Girkin Road on Monday in Warren County.

According to a social media post by the Warren County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded Monday around 5:27 p.m. to the 500 block of Girkin Road for a single-vehicle collision.

Authorities say the vehicle contained five people, with some trapped.

The Warren County Fire Department System says one patient was pinned.

According to deputies, an investigation revealed the vehicle dropped off of the right side of the road for unknown reasons, overcorrected and struck a tree.

Deputies say all occupants were flown to Louisville area trauma centers.

A passenger, 70-year-old Robert Wilson of Edmonson County, died due to his injuries on Tuesday, according to the sheriff’s office.

Authorities say alcohol was suspected to be a contributing factor in this incident.

Medical Center EMS, BGFD and Richardsville Fire were on scene, along with the WCSO Recon team. News 40 will provide additional details as they are released.
