SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. – A new community destination is coming to life in Scottsville.

The new mountain bike trail at Dugas Park is scheduled to open in April, according to a release.

The trail will offer approximately 1.5 miles of rideable terrain for beginners to intermediate riders.

“We’re building something that will continue to grow over time. Our goal is to create a place where people of all experience levels feel welcome to get outside and explore,” said Shannon Weaver, Dugas Park Executive Director.

A grand opening is scheduled for Saturday, April 18, at 12 pm during the annual Jacksonian Festival. The event will feature a group ride.

According to the release, the project is supported by local partners, volunteers, and members of the regional mountain biking community, including the Kentucky Mountain Bike Association (KYMBA).

Officials say future expansion is underway.
