Drakes Creek Middle School hosts annual Dance Middle Red

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Students at Drakes Creek Middle School took part in the annual Dance Middle Red Monday afternoon in support of Norton Children’s Hospital.

The students were able to raise over $6,000 and got to take part in a blacklight dance party.

The FCCLA chapter at Drakes Creek are instrumental in making sure this happens every year, and students as well as advisor Taylor Stewart know that it’s important to make sure these families are taken care of.

“We’re having a lot of fun here at Drakes Creek, but in the back of our minds, we know that we’re dancing for those who can’t. So we know that there are a lot of really sick kids and a lot of worried families, and so we’re hoping to impact them for the better,” she says.

8th grade FCCLA president Abby Buser says students were able to play games throughout the week to help raise the money as well.

She also adds she’s honored to help her fellow students raise money for such a good cause.
