Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library providing young children with books

BOWLING GREEN Ky.-The Warren County School District wants to remind families of a service to get books regardless of family income.

Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is a service that mails free high-quality books to children from birth to age 5. The goal of the district is to get books to the children as early as possible for early development.

Once you’re signed up, your child will receive a free book every month until they’re 5 years old. For multiple children in the same household, several different books will all come at the same time.

Warren County School District instructional consultant for the preschool department Christina Sanders says she’s thankful for this service, especially because it brings the benefits of development and bonding.

“It’s so important that they have the chance to have books in their home even before they get to school, and not just books that they can read, but books that they can own and belong to them and have that sense of ownership, know that it’s theirs to keep forever, and have the opportunity for the families to spend that time together,” Sanders said.
